During our Janurary 24-26, 2017 North Shore Trip, about 35 club members were blessed with fantastic powder - 7'
in the week before the trip.  For the third year, we stayed at the Pepper Tree Inn in Tahoe City.  In appreciation, the
management has extended the $90 rate for 49ers - ask for manager Samantha and mention the 49ers.

The first day we skied Alpine Meadows.  We battled long lines on Rt 89 and full parking lots when Squaw closed
because of the death of a safety crew employee.  Despite the late start, we experienced minimal lift lines all day.  
That evening 30+ 49ers met for tiddlies in the hotel's breakfast room before walking half a block to Rosie's
Wednesday, many of us took the Women of Winter Advance-Expert clinic.  Well worth the $49 to concentrate on
skiing knee deep powder and moguls.  Wednesday evening, after the usual tiddlies at the hotel, we walked across the
street to La Hacienda, a club favorite.  Most of us considered it a plus not to have to drive to any restaurants in the
evening.  It was enough of an adventure just trying to navigate narrow paths through 6' snowbanks to walk to nearby

The majority of 49ers skied Northstar Thursday while a few of us returned to Squaw.
